The rumor mill has started up. At least it's from a reputable source, Tom Marshall (the Robert Hunter of Phish songs).

Bri:

Cool news. I saw Phish a good number of times on the east and west coast and they always put on a very good show. And also like a relationship, space and time are always healing so let's see. Drugs are always hard in any band, looks like they might just be clean???

I would see them with you in the nw, if it were to happen.

Can you please e mail me at jopoems at hotmail -- we are having a bday party at jeff's house on the 24th, before we travel out to red rocks to see panic. You are more than welcome, there will be a lot of good ol GD rellin and a rockin.

See you soon!

"Whats that smell like Phish; oh Baby?" No thanks. They still stink. They never did a thing for me.

4 dudes > Phish > making money > they retire > solo careers suck > not making money > blow the dust off Phish for another go

I'll sit this one out...

Talented guys, but calling anyone involved with them
a "lyricist" is a bit of a stretch. And a comparison to hunter in anyway is rediculous.

Agreed. I never said he was a good version of Hunter, just that he was their primary lyricist.

i'm with you Bill. i shudder at the thought, even though i have seen them a few times. never compared them to the dead - but Trey "live" is kinda a joke. He thinks HE is the JAM!!

one of the most seriously overrated guitarists of this generation.

i still like some of their studio stuff though, when trey can actually "tone it down a notch"

fun shows, but trey's head is about the size of Water's floating pig. (hopefully trey's suffers the same fate some day - he may actually get better)

I would love to see the other band members tell him to take a hike. Would make my day.

I was wondering if they have moved on and would be cool to the idea. I seem to remember he was the one that broke them up, now he's the one to want them back together. Sounds like a yo-yo relationship with a high maintenance girlfriend. With that said, I'll still go see them when they swing through the Northwest.

I'm not into Phish so I can only comment on what i read and heard at the time. The reports made it sound that Trey was the one who spearheaded it and made the announcement on their site and the band had no clue. Then there was this "mutual decision" thing after the fact. This is my worthless opinion and it may be wrong but it's the way I feel about the guy. I find him arrogant. It's clear to me that he felt he was the shi* and thought people would follow him to his solo career. I don't think he anticipated people outside these small theatres booing him and vandalizing posters of him outside the venue. I think he realizes now that it's a big difference playing in front of a handful of people at the zippidydoo theatre rather than hundreds of thousands at some festival.

Phish shows were some of my best times. Many people don't like them because they automatically compare them to the GD, and because a lot of their songs were silly. But their jams rocked the house. I'd love to see them again.
